Laker families, Here are our weekly announcements that will traditionally come out on Friday, but I didn't get sent out until today (sorry for that delay...still getting back into the flow). Impact students, as you know IMPACT starts next week. Buses will be at Lakeland to take you to and from IMPACT: The AM bus will arrive at the Jr/Sr building at 7:05 am. Buses will be at Jr/Sr at 10:40, for afternoons classes. All buses will leave from the front parking lots by door 1.

The Lilly Scholarship opens this Friday (7/26) and is due on Sept. 12th. You can find more information about it also at www.lccf.net - Good luck!

I hope you summer is in full swing and you are enjoying some time away. I wanted to resend our summer reading challenge as we still have a month to go and there is still time to pick up a book and get involved. Lakeland Jr/Sr High is thrilled that our own Laura Hartman has been nominated by her peers for the Heart of Gold Award this year. "The Heart of Gold Award honors LaGrange County citizens who embrace a volunteer spirit and unselfishly give of themselves to serve others. Nominees share their time and energy for the sake of others, render a service that changes lives, work to create positive change and inspire others to volunteer." Mrs. Hartman brings this attitude to our school every single day and we are grateful for her.

The New Life Fellowship (2755 S SR 5 in Topeka) will have a free grocery distribution on May 13th 4pm-5:30pm. Families can pick up groceries to make two hot meals. LCYC and the Parks Department are partnering again to host a youth event - "LaGrange County Connecting with Youth"- at Delt Church Park on June 22, 2024. This is the third year for this event and it continues to grow each year. Families with any age children are welcome to attend; however, the door prize raffle tickets will only be passed out to children in grades 6-12.
