With the excessive heat expected Thursday, we're making some changes to practices and games:
1. All JH practices are cancelled tomorrow.
2. All outdoor HS practices will be canceled, shortened, or moved to later in the evening.
Games
1. The JH volleyball game against Angola is still on. The main gym is nice and cool.
2. Varsity/JV volleyball at Hamilton is still on.
3. Boys tennis against PH is cancelled and moved to Saturday morning at 9 AM.
4. Boys Soccer against Central Noble is cancelled. Makeup date has not been set yet.
Carson D. received a 'Positive Referral' for showing Laker Pride. The nominator, Miss McGuiggan, noticed Carson helping a student find the correct location without being asked.
Lakeland Jr/Sr High will have Virtual Learning on Wednesday and Thursday due to the extreme heat. Unfortunately, our construction project focused on HVAC , is not to the point of being able to cool the school. Jr/Sr High families please check your email for further information. This will NOT impact student in preK-6th grade!
Lakeland School Corporation is back online! Whew! Thank you for your patience during our tech outage.
Laker Nation: we have had a switch malfunction which has taken our network down. This means phones are not working, along with many other items. We hope to have it fixed by the morning, but can't be sure of that at this point. We may be teaching a little bit "old school" tomorrow!

Morning drop off saw more traffic than ever, which caused some issues at the 4 way stop by Jr/Sr. We've asked for officer assistance there tomorrow to help it run better. Dismissal ran later than we wanted, but not as late as last year! Both morning an afternoon processes will get better as we go along.

It is a busy day at Lakeland School Corporation. Registration help day for the district will be in the LIS cafeteria from 10 am till 7:30 pm.
LIS Open House Takes place between 5:30 and 7:30. Come meet the new faces in our school.
Greeting you at the front desk, taking your phone calls , and keeping LIS running smoothly this year will be Mrs. Taylor (left) and Mrs. Thornberry (right) .
Mr. Barrand is returning to LIS this school year as the assistant principal. Last year he was a Lakeland Jr/Sr High School assistant principal.
Mr. Jones is starting his second year as the principal for Lakeland Intermediate School. Mrs. Hulsenbeck and Miss Schneider return to their roles as school counselors.

Thank you Lakeland Intermediate School PTO for providing a majority of student supplies this school year. Students still need to provide 4 boxes of Kleenex, a backpack, headphones, and gym shoes.
