Laker Families, I made a quick video about our plan for Tuesday with limited AC in the building and also and update about looking at our morning traffic flow. We had a rough drop off this morning after several better days so I'm going to capture drop off next week with a drone to get a much better look at what's happening around the whole school in the morning. https://youtu.be/7wDt38fQBcg I hope you have a great weekend. Stay safe and Go Lakers!

Laker Nation is sad to learn of the passing of Herb Kerns, a former Lakeland bus driver. Herb was my bus driver a long time ago! I remember when he took us for a little ice cream cone on the last day of school. I believe it was at the A & W, which is long gone! Our condolences go out to his family; he touched many lives in Laker Nation! https://www.fruripmayfuneralhome.com/obituaries/Herbert-R-Herb-Kerns?obId=28832821&source=fb1&fbclid=IwAR07m01HCylbNfRVErr0Q8R9oI-aQZMAHDA5Kgzr0-zRQIfE7k8QEHz5-Hg

Laker Nation: we have had a switch malfunction which has taken our network down. This means phones are not working, along with many other items. We hope to have it fixed by the morning, but can't be sure of that at this point. We may be teaching a little bit "old school" tomorrow!

It was great to have our buildings full of life again! Morning drop off saw more traffic than ever, which caused some issues at the 4 way stop by Jr/Sr. We've asked for officer assistance there tomorrow to help it run better. Dismissal ran later than we wanted, but not as late as last year! Both morning an afternoon processes will get better as we go along. We're looking forward to a great year! Thank you for being a Laker!

Laker families, In order to keep improving the safety of our parking lot, we have made a few changes in the flow of traffic. Please see the attached image to help understand the changes. Busses will all be dropping off and picking up on the East side of our school by doors 15-21. That means we are going to close off that parking lot to thru traffic and parking. The lot by the tennis courts will now be event parking only. AM drop off for car riders will happen in the front of the school at Door 1. Traffic will enter from the entrances by the 4 way stop and cars will exit by the corporation office exit. PM pick up for car riders will happen in the Northwest parking lot by Door 7 like we did last year, with two lanes of traffic exiting by the baseball field. Student parking will be on the North side parking lot by door 10 and in the Northwest parking lot as well. Doors to school will open at 7:45am with a normal school day running from 8am-3:05pm. Fridays will start at 8:30.
